Research Progress in Area 3 方向 ( 三 ) 課題進展 147 Research Clusters 科研架構 Area 3 is composed of 10 PIs, leading 10 HKB-projects. They are focusing on the investigation of deep-sea animals and microbiomes as well as development of different techniques, such as transmission electronic microscopy for deep-sea shell structure, genome assembly and annotation, as well as computational modeling of eco-genomics. Deep-sea samples are critical for Area 3 projects. They conducted a 19-day South China Se Haima Cold Seep Cruise and collected 10-box samples; also collaborated with JAMSTEC to conduct a 2-day West Pacific Cruise and collected samples from Sagami Bay. 香港分部研究方向(三)由10个项目课题 组组成，主导10项科研项目。此小组成 员专注于深海动物和微生物组的研究， 以及不同研究技术的开发，例如研究开 发用于深海贝壳结构表征的透射电子显 微镜技术、诠释基因组的组装技术、以 及解析生态基因组学的建模技术。方向 (三)2021年执行一次为期19天的南海海 马冷泉采样航次，以及为期2天的西太平 洋采样航次(日本海洋研究开发机构合作 进行)，共采集样本10余箱。
