28 Research Area 2 研究方向 ( 二 ) Task Leader Prof. Wen-Xiong Wang School of Energy and Environment City University of Hong Kong 学术带头人 王文雄教授 香港城市大学能源及环境学院 Area 2: Marine environmental pollution and ecosafety in the Greater Bay Area and South China Sea Over the past decades, the marine economy of Guangdong Province has achieved great development, but there are also multiple environmental problems, including the pollution of coastal waters and the degradation of coastal environment. Marine pollution such as heavymetal pollution has become an important factor threatening the survival and development of marine lives in the Pearl River Estuary, as well as the ecosystem health of Guangdong coastal environments.
