The Guangzhou campus is a realized dream of HKUST. As the University celebrates its success over the past three decades, it also realizes the necessity to take its education and research excellence to the next level in order to meet the complex problems that the world faces today. The pandemic has highlighted the urgent need for an academic structure that integrates the diverse expertise required to provide mission-encouraged, system-wide solutions. It is out of this vision that HKUST(GZ) was born. Under our pioneering academic structure, there are 4 interconnected Academic Hubs incorporating 16 cutting-edge Research Thrust Areas. Students are thus empowered to be forward-thinking, innovative, and to take the initiative to foresee, identify and tackle real-world problems with core competencies beyond traditional disciplines.
