Research by Brown et al (June 2016), shows how VR’s effectiveness compares to the traditional classroom models. Thus, in this project, Virtual Reality (VR) is used as the fundamental, to create augmented reality (AR), aid remote learning, and allow the use of the third dimension, comparative to the traditional classroom experience. The increase in VR usage, and how it is a low-cost tool, is the reason for the growing popularity of VR/AR. In this project, users are able to draw/write using VR controller through a virtual space. Synthetic Tactile Sensing for Prosthetic Fingers Supervisor: LEUNG Suk Wai Winnie / ISD Student: LIU Hanmo / CPEG Course: UROP2100, Fall Detecting the state of hand activity and adjusting the positive and negative feedback has a positive effect on the rehabilitation training of disabled patients. By adding different sensors, the artificial fingers may take the different environmental signals as input such as pressure, fracture, temperature, etc. Sensing the signals is the first step for prosthetic fingers. This research focuses on how to construct one appropriate circuit which can apply to specific sensors to fulfill the requirement of the gloves. Finger Joints Design of 3D-printed Exo-Prosthetics Supervisor: LEUNG Suk Wai Winnie / ISD Student: KOK Yung Kang / MAE Course: UROP1100, Spring Exo-prosthesis hand is a replacement for a human hand to help disable to adapt to normal human live. In contrary to the more popular pulley system design in 3D printed exo-prosthesis hand, this project research in the design of linkage driven finger to provide a design which might possibly be used to compare with the pulley system in terms of reliability and user experience. The design shown in this paper still consists of flaws in terms of rigidity and compactness. Further improvement and testing have to be done to completely evaluate the possibility of using linkage system in a low-cost 3D printed protheses hand.
