7 Master of Science in Technology Leadership and Entrepreneurship Jointly offered by the Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies and the School of Business and Management, this unique Master of Science (MSc) program seeks to nurture engineering talents with an entrepreneurial spirit and a design and systems thinking mindset, so they can develop and launch their own innovative technologies or initiate innovation within companies. The program empowers students with the background and skills required to successfully develop and launch innovative products or services. The degree is centered around a project, in which each student, working independently or in a team, conceptualizes and develops a product or service idea during their study period. Along the way, they can enroll in technical courses to build in-depth knowledge about their product domain, refine their ideas, and build a competitive edge in the market. In parallel, they learn foundations for design, entrepreneurship, leadership, and business through a diverse selection of courses. Project supervisors can be selected from among any faculty in HKUST. Students are equipped with practical details of launching a startup in Hong Kong and/or the Pearl River Delta (PRD) area through a startup workshop. Successful graduates are expected to make a positive impact towards the development of a better society and world. MPhil Doctor of Philosophy in Integrative Systems and Design PhD students of ISD are expected to independently conduct and lead worldclass research on cross-disciplinary topics. Successful graduates should demonstrate a deep understanding of the state-of-the-art in their research areas and related topics.
