School of Humanities and Social Science Division of Humanities 192 Division of Humanities Korean War Prisoners Oral History Interview Transcription Supervisor: CHANG, David Cheng / HUMA Student: LIU, Xuzhuoyan / GCS-SOSC Course: UROP1100, Spring World War II is a brutal war involving many countries and spread to almost every continent of the world. Most current records or books about World War II state the history of that period from various countries' perspectives or the vague picture of the miserable life of ordinary people at that time. To fill the potential research gap and provide more detailed stories during World War II, this article employs the oral history interview to get more particular stories in the liaison team in China based on the Chinese interpreter, Wang Shulong's personal experience in the 8th Army during the World War II. Wang Shulong's interview offered a new perspective for people to know about daily work and life and the cultural difference between American and Chinese soldiers in World War II.
