Cells are stout and cylindrical in shape, with length up to 1 mm (Guo et al., 2003). Valves are asymmetrical, with half of them are hemispherical, while the other half is oblique conical. A robust, short, curved beak-like spine is observed at the valve apex with hollow base. This species is similar in morphology with Pseudosolenia calcar-avis.
