Cells are roughly triangular. The epicone is similar with hypocone in heights, and has a long, straight, and narrow apical horn with flat end. The two posterior horns are shorter, bending smoothly, pointed at the end, and almost parallel with the apical horn. Chloroplasts are numerous and a nucleus is located in the epicone. 形態 細胞個體較為強壯,獨立生活,也經常由於二分裂而成對存在。細胞近三角形,上 殼和下殼高度相仿。頂角窄,長且直,末端平截。兩個底角較頂角短,平滑彎曲,末 端尖,與頂角大致平行。色素體多,細胞核位於細胞上殼。 Ecology and distribution Tripos muelleri is a cosmopolitan species in coastal and oceanic waters from cold temperate to tropical region.
