Intercalary cells are cylindrical, equal in size, with heights shorter than widths. Terminal cells are relatively smaller than intercalary cells. 形態 紅海束毛藻呈絲狀,藻絲直,由膠質相連平行或輻射排列成束狀結構。藻絲內細胞 圓柱形,大小一致,一般高小於寬,末端細胞較小。 Ecology and distribution Trichodesmium erythraeum is cosmopolitan species in warm tropical and subtropical waters. It is the major and most dominant N2-fixing planktonic organism (diazotroph) in tropical and subtropical seas, playing key roles in global biogeochemical cycles. Trichodesmium erythraeum is bloom forming species and has caused 13 blooms in Hong Kong coastal waters from 1984 to 2023.
