The siliceous skeleton consists of branching rods which form three large oval apertures. Two flagella arise subapically, and chloroplasts are absent. 形態 細胞獨立生活，橢圓或近球形，細胞質包裹一個硅質的內骨骼。內骨骼包含一些分 叉的短柱，構成三個大的橢圓形的空間。細胞近前端有兩根鞭毛，不具色素體。 Ecology and distribution Ebria tripartita occurs in estuarine, coastal, oceanic waters as well as inland saline lakes.
