Analyzing over 1000 samples, Zhang gained initial insights into phytoplankton species diversity and its spatiotemporal distribution in Hong Kong waters, which greatly benefit the publication of this book. Zhang has published more than 30 papers in SCI journals, of which 5 are first author papers.
