School of Engineering Department of Computer Science and Engineering 137 Towards Efficient Queries on Graph Databases Supervisor: ZHOU Xiaofang / CSE Student: LI Yunqi / COSC Course: UROP 4100, Fall In this report, we summarize the research work about graph query language as well as query optimization for graph databases conducted in this semester. As there exists a common issue for declarative query languages, most of them are not user-friendly to non-programmers. To address this problem, previous studies utilize the visual query interface (GUI) which provides a bunch of canned patterns to users. However, most of researchers focused on graph databases as a collection of small-scale graphs, we propose a new framework for big graphs GUI, and further, it supports pattern maintenance and automatic query suggestion.
