Thus, major players in the market have been sparing no efforts to incorporate AI into their operation to make things more efficient and cost-effective, such as streamlining manufacture, identifying patterns of large sets of data and handling repetitive administrative work. However, not all attempts to utilize AI showed success, a few companies that inappropriately used AI ended up losing money, market share or even regressing. In the following report, the use of AI in different industries will be explained in a detailed manner, often with case studies and academic articles as examples and evidence. On Identifying Web3 Business Opportunities and Challenges Supervisor: LEE Dongwon / ISOM Student: LAI Kwan Leong / IS Course: UROP 1000, Summer In 2008, Bitcoin revolutionized the financial sector, leading to the rise of numerous cryptocurrencies. Unlike interconnected information networks, cryptocurrencies do not seamlessly connect, posing challenges for small-scale currencies. Automated Market Makers (AMMs) have emerged in decentralized finance (DeFi) to address these issues, facilitating decentralized exchanges (DEXs) through algorithms that set prices and manage liquidity. Each DEX offers unique advantages: Uniswap provides high liquidity and user-friendliness, Balancer excels in asset flexibility and risk management, Curve Finance is optimal for stablecoin trading with minimal slippage, and Bancor offers single-sided liquidity and dynamic weighting. This paper explores these AMMs, their mathematical mechanics, features, flaws, and the differences across various types, beginning with their fundamental mechanism. On Identifying Web3 Business Opportunities and Challenges Supervisor: LEE Dongwon / ISOM Student: PANG Lai Him / GBUS Course: UROP 1000, Summer AI-Web 3.0 Investment opportunities has been expanding rapidly, driven by the integration of AI like LLMs with blockchain technologies. This synergy is creating innovative solutions in sectors such as DeFi, metaverse, and GameFi. Strategic partnerships between fast-moving companies and capital from venture capitalists are fostering such rapid development. Companies like TRM Labs are creating new solutions in RegTech and DeFi sector, while bitsCrunch and StoryChain innovate in the NFT applications. Fetch.ai and Cortex Labs advance AI decentralized infrastructure, and RFOX is becoming one of the leaders in metaverse. In GameFi, ArenaX Labs and Unity Technologies are utilizing AI to create novel gaming experiences. Although Web3 assets are volatile, this paradigm shift offers immense potential for socio-economic interactions and digital transformation.
