35 The Master of Public Management program recently hosted an engaging urban hiking experience titled “The Ultimate Urban Hike: From Manufacturing to Services—Hong Kong’s Economic Development.” Held on December 12, 2024, the walking tour attracted enthusiastic participants eager to explore the city’s economic transformation. Led by Prof. Donald Low, the walk began at Kwun Tong, then at Wan Chai, where students gathered to delve into the intricacies of Hong Kong’s shift from manufacturing to a service-driven economy. As they traversed vibrant neighborhoods, participants gained firsthand insights into local industries and the impact of recent policy changes. The journey concluded in Central, providing a unique perspective on Hong Kong’s evolving landscape. This event not only enriched students’ understanding of public policy but also fostered a strong sense of community among participants.
