School of Engineering Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering 94 Project Financing Strategies for Major Infrastructure Projects Supervisor: ZHANG Xueqing / CIVL Student: NIZAR Naseer Ali / AE Course: UROP 1000, Summer This study looks at financial methods for infrastructure projects, emphasising a number of important areas such as stakeholder participation, corporate governance alignment, cash flow analysis, bankability, and costrisk allocation. This study identifies novel strategies for achieving financial stability through a combination of case studies and a survey of the literature, referencing the Hong Kong MTR project. Diversified revenue streams, quick governance processes, and a calculated risk-sharing mechanism are some of the main conclusions. The study gives recommendations for stakeholders to enhance their financial outcomes in largescale infrastructure projects. The research also mentions some general problems regarding infrastructure projects, such as unpredictable cash flows, risk allocation inefficiencies, government policies, and solutions to optimize financial growth.
