Studying abroad was an incredibly enriching experience for Ching Lam (right). She has developed a deeper understanding of herself, and has gained a new appreciation for the diversity of cultures and people worldwide. She would highly recommend studying abroad to anyone considering it. Ching Lam NG (GCS) University of Sussex, United Kingdom During his time at the University of Warwick, Josh (top left) initially faced challenges due to differences in educational systems, teaching styles, and cultural norms compared to those at HKUST. With the friendly and extroverted atmosphere in the United Kingdom and assistance from his tutor, he overcame these obstacles to gain insights into academia and cultural dynamics and obtain a broader understanding of different individuals. Josh CHAN (QSA) The University of Warwick, United Kingdom Studying in the United Kingdom presents Bryan with a unique opportunity for language learning and improvement. The University of Warwick stands out as an excellent place for Bryan to immerse himself in a new language environment and opens up unique opportunities for academic and intellectual growth. Bryan also used this opportunity to learn cooking in his dormitory, delved into different culinary traditions, developed new skills, and bonded with others. Sharing meals with flatmates became a means to socialize, learn about diverse cultures, and make the most of his study abroad experience in the United Kingdom. Bryan SZE (GCS) The University of Warwick, United Kingdom Overseas Learning Experiences Studying at IE University in Madrid was an incredible experience that enriched Jacky's (left) life in numerous ways. The journey presented him with various challenges and positive aspects that shaped his study, learning, and life experience. Adapting to a new academic system, dealing with homesickness, navigating cultural differences, and managing finances were significant challenges that encountered. At the same time, immersing himself in a new culture, receiving a high-quality education, and forming lifelong friendships were highlights. After all, Jacky believes this experience has broadened his horizons, enhanced personal and academic growth, and created cherished memories to be carried for a lifetime. Jacky YANG (GCS) IE University, Spain Pak Kwan's study abroad experience was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that significantly shaped his personal and academic growth. At the School of Media and Communication, Erasmus University, Pak Kwan embarked on a journey exploring subjects he had not studied in Hong Kong, such as Digital Media Analysis and Media Systems in Comparative Perspective. These courses broadened his horizons by emphasizing international aspect and comparative analyses. He was particularly enthusiastic about the teaching method that emphasized practical learning and real-world applications. Pak Kwan LAU (QSA) Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands Tak Chiu CHAN (QSA) Tak Chiu fulfilled his dream of studying abroad and visiting countries he had always wanted to explore. Before the start of the exchange, he felt a bit anxious. However, upon arriving in Copenhagen, he experienced the famous Danish ‘Hygge’ lifestyle - finding happiness in simple things. He made many friends, creating memories and receiving support when he needed assistance. Nervous yet excited, he had a satisfying and unforgettable study abroad experience in the end.
