Gordon (left) interned in the Sustainability Department of the Bank of East Asia, where he mainly assisted in handling deals related to green and sustainable finance products. The project of reducing financed emissions and achieving corporate Net Zero allowed him to apply his data analytical skills to ESG data, which strengthened his financial knowledge and built up his confidence. This internship experience helped him integrate sustainability into business strategy, aligning with his long-term vision of entering the green finance banking industry in the future. Gordon NG (QSA) Green and Sustainable Finance Intern, Bank of East Asia Lydia joined the internship program offered by the School and interned at Asia Society. It has been a distinctive experience, providing her with practical skills, networking opportunities, and personal growth. The diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, such as assisting with the 2024 Asia Business University Annual Summit Forum and Annual Special Course, allowed her to explore various aspects of business management and event planning. This internship also offered a valuable opportunity to establish meaningful connections with esteemed individuals in the professional community, gain insights into different professions, and acquire new knowledge. Lydia believes this experience will positively impact her future endeavors in the field. Lydia LIN (QSA) Visitor Team Intern, Asia Society Hong Kong Centre Hiu Ying LING (GCS) Legislative Assistant, Legislative Council, HKSAR Government Interning as a Legislative Assistant at the Legislative Council provided Hiu Ying with an invaluable opportunity to immerse herself in the workings of government and legislative processes. This experience has been both educational and transformative, significantly contributing to her professional growth and aligning with her aspiration to pursue a career in government and public services. Throughout the internship, she honed her skills in effective communication, critical thinking, and legislative writing. Hiu Ying summarizes that the internship has been an incredible learning journey, providing her with firsthand experience in the legislative environment and understand the intricacies of policy-making. Internship Experiences Hazel KONG (GCS) Marketing and Sales Intern, Moët Hazel had the pleasure of serving as a marketing and sales intern at Moët Hennessy Diageo, part of the world's largest luxury brand, LVMH. This was an invaluable opportunity for her to participate in various marketing activations, including the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Immersive Pop-up store and Diageo World Class. Not only did these experiences broaden her perspective on the luxury industry, but they also allowed her to apply the theoretical knowledge she acquired at university, leaving an indelible mark on her university life. Jonghoon interned at NH Investment and Securities (H.K.), Ltd. where he directly supported the sales team in their daily activities. This assignment gave him the opportunity to understand the overall workflow and current market trends, particularly in Korea. Additionally, he was invited to various meetings, which allowed him to explore different areas of the securities firm (acquisition financing, execution trading, fixed income S&T, etc.) and their prospects, which are essential for his future career choices. Jonghoon concludes that he has learned about his own limits and weaknesses, which he was not able to identify before the internship, and this experience has strengthened his further development in those areas. Korea Equity Desk Intern, NH Investment and Securities (H.K.), Ltd. Jonghoon LEE (QSA) King Wo embarked on an internship journey at BK Media in Beijing, a hub for technological lifestyle and scientific dissemination. Her responsibilities included topic selection, writing articles for the official account, and occasionally assisting with urgent video editing tasks. She gained a wealth of knowledge that she could not learn in school and she treasures this unique opportunity to live in a city that was completely unfamiliar to her.
