It has built a strong reputation for academic rigour, impactful research, and close engagement with industry and the profession. Through innovation in geotechnical and structural engineering, transportation, construction and environmental management, it has supported Hong Kong’s infrastructure development and sustainability, particularly as the city advances major projects and pursues digital transformation and carbon neutrality. The close partnership between the Department and the HKIE in accreditation, professional training, and continuing professional development has strengthened the profession and upheld high standards of integrity and competence. At this juncture, as the Department celebrates its 35th anniversary, may I congratulate the Department once again on this remarkable milestone and wish it continued success in the years ahead, and for generations to come.
