Peer Counselor Reflection
朋輩輔導篇
I see beauty in people
Listening, which is never understandable in a way for me. Some say it
follows the traces of sound and decodes the encrypted messages of the
speaker. For how true this comprehension is, the Peer Counselor Program
seems to be a way to know.
Here, I met people, created close rapport with them and I heard voices.
Words came into my ears and I could tell if they were felt like cold stone,
beach bikini, raking leaves or blooming cherries; even rainy or dry. Deep
down in me though, I felt sometimes too cold; occasionally too hot; on
occasion not even right. Luckily luck played its part at times too. At this
junction, an important day arrived. The day I talked to my then-best-friend
without even a hint of intentional or unintentional judgment. I listened to
him and I felt so right. At once, I thoroughly understood his situation and
feelings and his matter was treated with significance and sincerity.
For the first time, I experienced humbleness. For too long, I had thought of
myself as being more superior than others, I wanted to judge every single
action and every single feeling. What is right and what is wrong? What
should be done and what should not? I am not saying that I am in no
position to judge, but I think there is a fine line where one has done
enough or has overdone it.
