Generally, companies alter their company scaling based on their incoming, total asset or total liability. This project is aiming to analyse financial and operational management dataset of several mining companies and reveal some inconspicuous relation between operational risk management and financial risk management. The dataset includes data over the past 20 years representing some property of mines such as proven reserves, probable reserves and indicated or measured reserves for each mine operation. Data will be analysed using some hypotheses testing methods to determine how a company’s portfolio (of mines) implies how it deal with financial risk. At this stage, data of all companies have probably already been completely collected, and will be prepared for more testing and analysing to reach to the conclusion of this research project. Family Office Research - Understanding the Trend of Wealth Supervisor: PENG Qian Winnie / FINA Student: LI Tin Yau / FINA MA Ka Hei / FINA Course: UROP1100, Spring UROP1100, Spring In recent years, the number of billionaires has grown rapidly worldwide. Few academic papers and business reports have been published to examine the characteristics and demands of billionaires. In this research paper, we focus on studying the Chinese billionaires, as the numbers have surged in recent years. Based on an in-depth analysis of the billionaire lists and the review of market data, we seek to offer a more comprehensive understanding of the source of wealth of Chinese billionaires and the possible future trend. We find that the ranking of the billionaires has changed significantly in recent years. Some new economy are rising up while the importance of the real estate industry, which used to be the dominant source of wealth for Chinese billionaires, has declined.
