Susanne AALTO Deputy President and Deputy CEO Chalmers University of Technology 查爾姆斯理工大學副校長兼副首席執行長 Susanne Aalto is Deputy President and Deputy CEO of Chalmers University of Technology, with responsibility for the academic environment and academic excellence. She has held this position since January 2024. In her role as Deputy President, she works with the strategic development of Chalmers’ academic environment, research excellence and faculty recruitment, including initiatives to attract and develop leading researchers and strengthen internationally competitive research environments. She has held several academic leadership positions at Chalmers, including Chair of the Faculty Senate and Head of the Division of Astronomy and Plasma Physics. Aalto is also Professor of Radio Astronomy and an internationally recognised researcher in extragalactic astronomy. Her research focuses on galaxy evolution and the interplay between star formation, supermassive black holes, molecular gas, inflows and galactic outflows. Her work uses major international research infrastructures including ALMA and the James Webb Space Telescope. She is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA) and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA).
