Professor Ho Teck-Hua is the fifth president of Nanyang Technological University, where he is a Distinguished University Professor. He is chair of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities; president of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore; and an academician of Academia Sinica. Teck has a PhD in decision sciences from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has served as the founding executive chairman of AI Singapore (2017-2026), senior deputy president and provost (2018-2023) and deputy president (research and technology) (2015-2018) at the National University of Singapore, and the William Halford Jr Family Professor of Marketing at the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business (2002-2015). In 2015, the Haas School presented him with the Williamson Award, the highest faculty award, named for Oliver Williamson, recipient of the 2009 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. In Singapore, Teck was the first awardee of the National Research Foundation’s Returning Singaporean Scientists Scheme. He sits on the boards of the Communicable Diseases Agency; DSO National Laboratories; and the National Research Foundation.
