SUN Youhong is President of Southeast University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Professor Sun graduated from the former Changchun College of Geology (now Jilin University) in June 1990 and stayed on as a faculty member. From September 2002 to June 2006, he pursued postdoctoral research, followed by a visiting scholar position at the University of Nottingham, UK, from July 2006 to July 2007. In August 2015, he became Vice President of Jilin University. In March 2019, he was appointed President of China University of Geosciences (Beijing). Elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2021, he assumed the post of President of Southeast University in February 2025. Professor Sun has served as a member of the Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a member of the Science and Technology Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Vice Director of the Geology and Resources Division of the 8th Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, Deputy Chair of the Ministry of Education’s Guidance Committee for Geological Discipline Teaching, Vice President of the Geological Society of China, and Chairman of the Energy Education Branch of the China Association of Higher Education. Professor Sun has worked extensively in deep-earth, deep-sea, polar-region research, and petroleum resources exploration. He led research and development of the “Crust-1” 10,000-meter continental scientific drilling equipment and the Antarctic Subglacial Lake Drilling and Sampling Observation System. His accolades include two Second Prizes of the State Technological Invention Award, one Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, the Ministry of Education’s “Top Ten Scientific Advances of Chinese Universities”, and the 13th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award. 孫友宏，東南大學校長，中國工程院院士。1990年6月畢業于原長春地質學院（現吉林大學）並 留校工作。2002年9月至2006年6月從事博士後研究，2006年7月至2007年7月在英國諾 丁漢大學做訪問學者。2015年8月任吉林大學副校長。2019年3月任中國地質大學（北京） 校長。2021年當選為中國工程院院士。2025年2月任東南大學校長。擔任國務院學位委員會 學科評議組成員，自然資源部科技諮詢委委員，第八屆教育部科技委地學與資源學部副主任， 教育部高校地質類專業教學指導委員會副主任委員，中國地質學會副理事長、中國高等教育 學會資源能源教育分會理事長。長期致力於深地、深海、極地和國家潛在油氣資源等領域 研究，主持研發了“地殼一號”萬米大陸科學鑽探裝備、南極冰下湖鑽進採樣與觀測系統等。 獲國家技術發明獎二等獎2項、國家教學成果二等獎1項、教育部“中國高等學校十大科技 進展”、第十三屆光華工程科技獎。 SUN Youhong 孫友宏 President Southeast University 東南大學校長 60
