Professor Liang-Fong Wong is Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Internationalisation) at the University of Bristol, where she provides strategic leadership for the University’s global engagement activities. She has worked closely with higher education institutions, governments, and strategic partners globally to advance international collaboration in education, research, innovation, and capacity building. Prof Wong graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Microbiology from the National University of Singapore before being awarded the Wellcome Trust Prize Studentship to undertake a PhD in Neuroendocrinology at the University of Bristol. Her research interests include gene and cell therapies for neurological disorders, stem cell technologies, regenerative medicine, and translational biomedical science. Her career spans both industry and academia; at Oxford BioMedica (UK) Ltd she led preclinical research and genomics programmes focused on developing gene therapies for neurodegenerative diseases and nerve repair. Alongside her research career, Prof Wong has held leadership roles within Bristol Medical School, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate education, curriculum development, and academic strategy.
