Festival 2014-cum-
Launching Ceremony of
the HKUST Water Sports
Center, sponsored by the
Alumni Endowment Fund (AEF), took place in October. The
campus, being on the waterfront, is ideal for a range of water
sports including dragon boating, sea rowing, windsurfing,
kayaking and sailing; the new center further boosts the
University’s water sports culture. Apart from assisting the festival,
AEF also plays a crucial part by supporting athletics sports
awards and athletic undergraduate recruitment scholarships.
HKUST Sports Team
A comprehensive range of sports activities are organized by student sports clubs. They are
enthusiastic participants of inter-collegiate, local and international sports competitions. They
have brought back trophies and awards, and, most importantly, a broader vision of the world
and life beyond the campus.

Water Sports Center
The festival attracted a good number of
students, alumni, staff and faculty, with many
competing fiercely in various races including
rowing, canoeing, dragon boating and water
polo on campus in October. Training and
workshops are provided to students
by the Center from time to time, to further
develop water sports right here.
The HKUST Water Sports Center offers a wide range
of water sports, including canoeing and water polo.
