succeed through mutual support, and it was this ethos and philosophy that has seen the pair continue to pass it on — so that other students can feel the sense of belonging and connection that has shaped the brothers’ lives. The pair have been, and continue to be, generous donors and supporters of HKUST. Being grateful for the support they received during their studies, the brothers started an initiative to establish a student emergency fund under the Alumni Endowment Fund (AEF) to help The Student Affairs Office emergency fund provided a lifeline for Terry and Terence, but more than that, it instilled in the brothers a deep appreciation of the importance of lending a hand to students in need. In their professional and personal lives, Terry and Terence have always believed that people are interconnected. Their commitment to social service started during their time at HKUST, when they visited community groups ranging from preschools to elderly care homes.
