Professor Liu Changsheng is President of Chongqing University, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He has been elected a Fellow of the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUSBSE) and a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). He has long been engaged in fundamental and applied research on biomaterials and tissue regeneration and repair. He is the first person internationally to propose the concept of materiobiology. He led the development of self-setting calcium phosphate artificial bone, which obtained the first registration certificate of its kind from the National Medical Products Administration in China, and has since been widely used in clinical practice. He has published more than 300 SCI journal papers and 6 monographs in Chinese and English.
