Ms Sunny Yang is a distinguished international education leader with extensive expertise in strategic global engagement, transnational education (TNE), and operational governance. She currently serves as Vice President (Growth and International) at Monash University, where she drives the university’s global engagement strategy, student recruitment and admissions for Monash University group entities, and supports Monash’s international campuses in Malaysia, Indonesia, and partnered presence in China, and India. Over a career spanning nearly three decades, Ms Yang has held senior executive roles across higher education and government. Her leadership includes serving as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Partnerships) at the University of Newcastle Australia, alongside 15 years in senior leadership at Monash University. Prior to her higher education roles, she led economic development and skilled migration functions for the South Australian Government and began her career teaching at Beijing Normal University. A trusted advisor on international education policy, Ms Yang is a member of the Victorian International Education Advisory Council and the only Australian member on Cambridge Assessment International Education’s Strategic Higher Education Advisory Council.
