Professor ZHANG Xi is currently the President of Jilin University in China. He also serves as a professor in the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University. Xi earned his Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Jilin University, under the joint guidance of Professors Jiacong Shen and Helmut Ringsdorf of Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany. He is currently the Director of the Polymer Division of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS). Zhang Xi’s distinguished career includes being elected a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2007), RSC Fellow (2008), ACS Fellow (2016), and CCS Fellow (2020). He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of CCS Chemistry, the flagship journal of the Chinese Chemical Society. His scientific interest lies in areas at the cutting edge of supramolecular chemistry and polymer chemistry, leading to the development of molecular engineering of functional supramolecular systems. 張希，吉林大學校長，清華大學化學系教授。他於吉林大學獲得高分子化學與物理博士學位， 師從吉林大學沈家驄教授和德國美因茨大學Helmut Ringsdorf教授。目前兼任中國化學會 高分子學科委員會主任、中國化學會高水準旗艦期刊《CCS Chemistry》主編。張希於2007年 當選中國科學院院士，2008年當選英國皇家化學會會士，2016年當選美國化學會會士，2020年 當選中國化學會會士。他長期從事超分子化學與高分子化學交叉領域的研究，致力於發展功能 超分子體系的分子工程學。 ZHANG Xi 張希 President Jilin University 吉林大學校長 Professor Xiang Zhang is currently the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and also US National Academy of Engineering (NAE). Professor Zhang’s research focuses on materials physics, metamaterials and nano-photonics. He has published over 420 journal papers including over 100 publications in Science and Nature family series. In 2008, Professor Zhang’s research was selected by Time Magazine as one of the “Top Ten Scientific Discoveries of the Year” and “50 Best Inventions of the Year”, Discover Magazine’s “Top 100 Science Stories” in 2007, and R&D Magazine’s top 25 Most Innovative Products of 2006.
