Designed for senior executives and professions in the government, non-profit and the private sector,
“Opportunities from the Belt and Road” was an Executive Education Program co-organized with HKUST
Leadership and Public Policy Executive Education (LAPP). It consisted of a series of interconnected and
interactive seminars and aimed to provide participants with an up-to-date picture of how the Initiative is being
implemented in countries around the world. It explored a range of topics including: impacts on trade and
investment as well as internationalization of the renminbi, potential opportunities for Hong Kong businesses,
and the roles that government and other stakeholders can play to take advantage of these opportunities.

The program featured world-class faculty from HKUST who are part of a strategic public policy research project
on “Trade and Investment under One Belt One Road and Implications for Hong Kong” being undertaken by
HKUST’s Institute for Emerging Market Studies with support from Hong Kong’s Central Policy Unit. Instructors
