Higher Education System
The higher education systems in France and
Germany mainly comprise of universities and
vocational institutions. Universities typically offer
bachelor degree programmes of 3 to 4 year
durations under the European Credit Transfer
System (ECTS). On the other hand, specialist
vocational schools provide a broad range of
subjects and theoretical teachings on the sciences
and liberal arts, allowing students to obtain an all-
rounded education.
Application Requirements
Many German institutions offer international
degree programmes that do not require German
as a prerequisite, but most require students to
show their secondary school-leaving certificates
to qual if y for undergraduate studies. Local
students in Hong Kong would be required to
apply with their HKDSE or IB Diploma academic
results. Although there is no central admission
system for German universities, applicants may still
obtain information from the German Academic
guide to University
