HKUST Alumni News 2014
Giving Back
To date, the amount raised
for the Alumni Endowment
Fund (AEF) for the 2013-14
academic year has topped
HK$5 million, including
proceeds from the first-ever
Alumni Endowment Fund
Cup golf tournament, held in
January. These funds bring
the total for AEF to HK$15
million, including HKSAR
government matching, since
the launch in 2012.
The AEF provides a
reliable and continuous
source of funding, thanks to its solid base and the income
it generates each year. The money goes towards a variety
of enrichment programs for the benefit of students. HKUST
is delighted to have the support of several generous
donations from alumni, namely Samson Yu and brothers
Terry and Terence Tsang.
“We truly treasure the continuous
guidance and assistance the
University has given us, both before
and after graduation. We believe
that contributing to AEF can make
an impact on students’ lives.”
“I learned so much from my course
and have built up great and lasting
friendships with my classmates.
I hope that more alumni are
inspired to give back in future, too.”
