Stepping
Up
To better prepare for the upcoming Gobi
Challenge – Pilgrimage Journey of Xuan Zang,
a group of devoted hikers from the
EMBA
Walkers’ Club
participated in a two-day
intensive training session at Sai Kung Country Park in March. It enhanced their core value of
“inheritance”, as this was the first time that hikers from last year’s Gobi Challenge took the
lead in training newcomers for this year’s event. To be joined by the Shenzhen Chapter, the
Walkers’ Club takes part in the charity walk organized by the One Foundation this June.
Following the success of the First Dragon
Boat Fun Race at the soft launch of the
HKUST Water Sport Center, the
Alumni
Dragon Boat Club
has continued with
its tough training program in order to
consolidate HKUST’s status as the leader
in the development of dragon boat sport
among universities in Hong Kong. Recently
paddlers have been undergoing regular
trainingat HKUST’s ownpier – a very special
privilege enjoyed by USTers. If you are
interested in joining the team, or simply long
to reunite with old buddies,
please leave a message at
the HKUST Alumni Dragon
Boat Club Facebook page.

The
EMBA Alumni Association

fabulous programs, cultivating tighter bonds
among alumni and HKUST. The first HKUST
EMBA Alumni Forum in Shenzhen brought
together over 170 alumni. The New Year Gala
held by the East China branch in Shanghai
attractedmore than 70 participants. The North China branch joined the Second Nobel Economist
Summit, and forged close relationships with alumni of other universities. As for sports, the EMBA
Walkers’ Club training is in full swing in preparation for the Gobi Challenge (see below), while its
Golf Club has taken part in tournaments with counterparts at other business schools.
