This season has brought a new training experience to the paddlers of
the
Alumni Dragon Boat Club
as they have started their regular and
vigorous training sessions at the University’s new seafront watersports
facility. It has prepared them for the upcoming races, including the
regional event in southern Taiwan this summer. If you want to be part
of this energetic team, join them now!
Engineering
Fun
The Alumni Family Fun Day of the
School
of Engineering
was successfully held
on campus in mid-April. Over 430
engineering alumni, faculty members
and their families participated in this
joyful event. Organic play booths and
snack counters were set up, and parents
and their kids enjoyed the games, which
helped boost creativity and unlock the
full potential of the little ones.
To ring in the start of the 20th anniversary of the
MBA Alumni
Association
, the MBAAA Annual Dinner was staged in early
March. Over 70 alumni of different graduation years came
together on this celebratory occasion and enjoyed the rich
program that was organized.

Competition was intense at the
annual HKUST Alumni Endowment
Fund Cup Golf Tournament held at
KauSai Chau golf course inSai Kung
on May 22, attended by President Prof Tony Chan and a group of keen
golfers. The heavy rain didn’t dampen players’ enthusiasm, and everyone
was happy to enjoy a round of golf and support the University at the
same time. Special thanks go to

for bringing golf lovers together for this special occasion.
Dancing
Stars
On April 28, over 90 alumni dancers from class of 1994 to class
of 2014 established a record by staging a large-scale dance
performance at Yuen Long Theatre in celebration of the 20th
anniversary of the Dance Society, HKUST Students’ Union. This
significant moment was made possible by the concerted efforts
of members of the
Dance Alumni Society
. The response was
overwhelming.
Smashing
Success
The
EMBA Table Tennis Club
is one
of the most recently established sports
club. Despite its short history, the players
havealreadybeenactive in joiningdifferent
competitions, among them a tournament
for business schools in China.
Fruitful
Reunion
Alumni from Hong Kong, Mainland China
and overseas had a wonderful time at the
6th AGM of the
Civil and Environmental
Engineering Postgraduates and
Scholars Association
in Beijing from
April 3-6. Apart from the meeting, an
academic conference and city tour to
the Great Wall and 2014 APEC venue
were organized. It was a fruitful reunion
for all.
